Congratulations to Montgomery High School student Susan Pierce for winning First Place, Best in Class, and Best of Show in Thematic Art at the San Diego County Fair! Also to the Student Showcase Donated Award winners Sophia Bobis and Daniel Gochicoa and the 26 first place winners from teacher Lynette Young-Golding!

10th Annual DMS

2018 District Digital Media Showcase was Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 at 6 p.m.  Location: Otay Ranch High School Pavilion (1250 Olympic Parkway, Chula Vista, CA 91913)
Free admission.

The tenth annual Digital Media Showcase featured student work created in digital media classes throughout the Sweetwater Union High School District. Student work in photography, computer art, graphic design, video, and music technology is celebrated. Industry professionals judge the submissions and awards are given to the top entries. Over 500 student works were entered this year!

SUHSD Student Art Exhibition & Award Ceremony

SUHSD Student Art Exhibition is February 16 – April 3, 2018 at the South Chula Vista Library (389 Orange Avenue, Chula Vista, 91911) Featuring middle and high school student artwork from throughout the district. Free admission. Award Ceremony was Friday, March 9th, 2018.

Sweetwater High School – Visual Arts

Congratulations to Sweetwater High School’s After School Arts Program for creating an impressive mural at Frank Toyota in National City, CA. A formal presentation took place on Friday, January 26th at 3 p.m. The arts program was awarded $500!

Chula Vista High School winners – Congressional Art Competition

Congratulations to Chula Vista High Visual Art students!

May – Congressman Juan Vargas announced the 51st District Congressional Art Competition winners – 1st Place, Serena Cardenas (CVH). Her artwork will be displayed in the hallways of Congress for the next year and she and a parent will be flown to Washington, DC for this recognition; 3rd Place, Natalia Lopez (CVH).
