VAPA is pleased to partner with Art of Elan and ARTS (A Reason To Survive) in the 2018 Young Artists in Harmony program.
Young Artists in Harmony (YAH) is a unique internship program offered by the innovative chamber music organization
Art of Elan, in partnership with A Reason To Survive (ARTS) in National City, where advanced music students have the opportunity to:
- explore musical composition with professional musicians
- create and be a part of public performances — in National City and Balboa Park
- meet and collaborate with other like-minded music students
- build a musical composition portfolio for college
Participants in Young Artists in Harmony receive mentoring from professional Art of Elan musicians, and meet weekly at ARTS to both compose music in the computer lab (using Finale software) and try out ideas with other musicians.
The fall program runs October 13 – Dec 15, with sessions each Saturday (except Thanksgiving weekend) from 1-4pm
Final concerts are Dec. 15th at ARTS and January 23rd at the San Diego Art Institute in Balboa Park.
A one-hour orientation for new students and families takes place on Thursday, October 11th at 6:30pm at ARTS.
