Join us for the District Art Show Gala & Awards Reception on Friday, March 10 from 5:30pm – 7pm.

The 2023 District Art Show is on display at,

The Art Show is open Saturday, March 11 from 10am – 6pm. and Sunday,March 12 from 10am – 4pm. Come by and experience our extraordinary student artwork.

Art Walk 2022 at Southwest Middle School was amazing!

Our Art Walk was a success!

We had a variety of genres, and mediums: paintings; watercolor, acrylic, pen and pencil drawings, printed digital art, and sculptures all done by our talented students.

The Art Walk was from Dec. 7 – Dec. 9

Ashley Escamilla wins 1st Place in Congressional Art Competition for the CA-51st District

Ashley Escamilla CA-51 Congressional Art Award Winner

San Diego, CA., May 2022. – Congratulations to Ashley Escamilla, an alumna of Bonita Vista High School. Her artwork, Diversidad, won 1st Place at the Congressional Art Award, CA-51st District, with the Hon. Juan Vargas. Her artwork will be displayed for one year at the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Teacher: Ed Lim.

Giovanna Sanchez wins 1st Place in Congressional Art Competition for the CA-53rd District

Her artwork, Piñata, won 1st Place at the Congressional Art Award, CA-53rd District, with the Hon. Sara Jacobs. Her artwork will be displayed for one year at the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. 2nd Place: Lili Mancilla, Untitled. 3rd Place: Paola Castillo, News. Additionally, the artwork of 16 Bonita Vista High School students is on display at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park. Teacher: Ed Lim.

Summer Arts Academy – 2022

The Summer Arts Academy for VAPA students was amazing! We would like to congratulate and thank all the students, teachers, parents, and staff for a successful camp this year!

The SUHSD Summer Arts Academy was a FREE one-week camp offered each summer to Sweetwater Union High School District students that are currently enrolled in the arts. The camp celebrated the Visual Arts, Choir, Concert Band, Dance, Orchestra, Mariachi, Baile Folklórico, and Color Guard.

Once again, we would like to thank all the students that participated this year. Have a great summer break and see you next year!
