Chula Vista High School winners – Congressional Art Competition

Congratulations to Chula Vista High Visual Art students!

May – Congressman Juan Vargas announced the 51st District Congressional Art Competition winners – 1st Place, Serena Cardenas (CVH). Her artwork will be displayed in the hallways of Congress for the next year and she and a parent will be flown to Washington, DC for this recognition; 3rd Place, Natalia Lopez (CVH).

Chula Vista High School – Visual Art

Congratulations to Chula Vista High School visual art students and their teacher, Michelle Spielman, for the following entries in the 2017 Youth Art Month Exhibition! Their artwork will be recognized at the Closing Awards Reception on March 5, 2017 at the Rose Gallery at Francis Parker School (6501 Linda Vista Rd. San Diego, CA 92111) from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. YAM Exhibition runs from Jan. 23 through March 5, 2017. Open to the public Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Congratulations to Chula Vista High School visual art student Jocelyn Jimenez. Her artwork was selected to be exhibited in the “Young Art 2017: Beyond the Ordinary” exhibit from April 15 – May 18, 2017 at the San Diego Museum of Art (Balboa Park, 1450 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92102)

Congratulations to all 2015 Sweetwater Union High School District Art Show award recipients and participants! Award reception was held Friday, March 13th, 2015 at South Chula Vista Library. Below are photos highlighting the gala reception. Opening remarks were made by VAPA Director Jeff Kover and Visual Arts Committee Co-Chairs Ms. Andrea Arroyo & Ms. Abigail Serafin. Among special guest were Interim Superintendent Ms. Sandra C. Huezo, School Board President Mr. Frank A.
