Sweetwater High School Theatre – The Cave Dwellers

The Sweetwater High School Theatre Guild by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. presents:

The Cave Dwellers
Written by William Saroyan
Directed by Ben Cassel

6 pm, November 17-18 & December 2-3, 2016 at Sweetwater High School – Laura R. Charles Theatre (2900 Highland Avenue, National City, CA 91950)

On November 17, 1966, Ben Cassel appeared in his first theatrical performance, playing the Second Boy in a production of All the Way Home at the Chula Vista Little Theatre. That show began a half-century of involvement in theatre, culminating with finding his calling as theatre teacher and director at Sweetwater High School.

On November 17 of this year, Mr. Cassel will mark his 50th Anniversary in theatre with the opening night performance of Sweetwater High School Theatre Guild’s Fall Production of William Saroyan’s The Cave Dwellers. The play is a moving story of an odd assortment of homeless people (and a dancing bear) who take refuge together in an abandoned, condemned theatre, in which they find love, family, and power.

The Sweetwater Theatre Guild does not charge admission to their shows; donations to the program are encouraged. Reservations are strongly recommended.
