Mariachi Spring Concert – 2023
Mariachi Spring Concert is Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 6:30pm.
Location: Otay Ranch High School – Pavillion
(1250 Olympic Pkwy, Chula Vista, CA 91913)
Featuring SUHSD’s middle and high school students. The concert is free of charge this year and it is open to parents and families.
Participating Schools: Bonita Vista High School, Chula Vista High School, Montgomery High School, Montgomery Middle School, National City Middle School, Southwest High School, Southwest Middle School, Sweetwater High School, and San Ysidro High School.

Summer Arts Academy – 2022
The Summer Arts Academy for VAPA students was amazing! We would like to congratulate and thank all the students, teachers, parents, and staff for a successful camp this year!
The SUHSD Summer Arts Academy was a FREE one-week camp offered each summer to Sweetwater Union High School District students that are currently enrolled in the arts. The camp celebrated the Visual Arts, Choir, Concert Band, Dance, Orchestra, Mariachi, Baile Folklórico, and Color Guard.
Once again, we would like to thank all the students that participated this year. Have a great summer break and see you next year!
Reminder: SUHSD SUMMER ARTS ACADEMY – 2022
The Summer Arts Academy deadline to register is today! The SUHSD Summer Camp for VAPA students is June 6 – 10, 2022 from 9AM – 3PM each day. The Summer Arts Academy will be held this year at Chula Vista High School. The SUHSD Summer Arts Academy is a FREE one week camp offered each summer to Sweetwater Union High School District students that are currently enrolled in the arts.

Sweetwater High – Mariachi Nuevo Aguadulce
Last week, Sweetwater High School’s Mariachi Nuevo Aguadulce was invited to play at the Fox 5 San Diego Morning Show. The same week, they attended Mariachi Workshops at USD and learned from some of the best mariachi musicians in the industry. On Sunday, March 11th, 2018, they participated in the Mariachi Festival & Competition at Pepper Park, in National City and won third place! Congratulations to Mariachi Nuevo Aguadulce and their Mariachi Instructor, Fredd Sanchez!
