Mariachi Spring Concert – 2022

Mariachi Spring Concert is Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 6pm and on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 6pm.

Location: Rancho del Rey Middle School –
Cultural Arts Center
(1174 East J Street, Chula Vista, CA 91910)

Featuring SUHSD’s middle and high school students. The concert is free of charge this year and it is open to parents and family.

Participating Schools: Bonita High School, Bonita Vista Middle School, Chula Vista High School, Montgomery High School, Montgomery Middle School, National City Middle School, Southwest High School, Southwest Middle School, Sweetwater High School, and San Ysidro High School.

Sweetwater High – Mariachi Nuevo Aguadulce

Last week, Sweetwater High School’s Mariachi Nuevo Aguadulce was invited to play at the Fox 5 San Diego Morning Show. The same week, they attended Mariachi Workshops at USD and learned from some of the best mariachi musicians in the industry. On Sunday, March 11th, 2018, they participated in the Mariachi Festival & Competition at Pepper Park, in National City and won third place! Congratulations to Mariachi Nuevo Aguadulce and their Mariachi Instructor, Fredd Sanchez!

San Ysidro High School – Mariachi

San Ysidro High Mariachi Program presents Valentine’s Day Mariachi Concert on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the San Ysidro High Dr. Maida Torres-Stanovik Performing Arts Center (5353 Airway Rd, San Diego, CA 92154). Featuring special guests: Greater San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Dr. Angela Yeung, Javier Rodriguez, and Mariachi Juvenil de San Diego. Tickets are $5 pre-sale and $7 at the door.

2017 Mariachi Scholarship Foundation – Winners

Congratulations to the 2017 Mariachi Scholarship Foundation award recipients! Concert & Award Ceremony is Thursday, May 18 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm at Southwestern College Mayan Hall (900 Otay Lakes Rd., Chula Vista, 91910)

Featuring Mariachi performances from Chula Vista High School, Sweetwater High School, Otay Ranch High School, Southwest High School, and Intermediate & Advanced Southwestern College Mariachis. Tickets are $10 at the door ($7 students/seniors) Free parking in Lot “O” on Otay Lakes, South of “H” Street.

Mariachi Festival & Competition

The next Annual Mariachi Festival & Competition is March 12, 2017 at Pepper Park, 3299 Tidelands Ave, National City.

Congratulations to Mariachi Miztli from San Ysidro High School for winning first place and Bonita Vista High for winning 3rd at the 2016 Mariachi competition.
